Curious. Compassionate. A survivor and story-teller.
Jewels Williams was once a passenger in a burning plane, 30,000 feet above sea-level over the Indian ocean. This terrifying ordeal, along with other major life changing events, gave Jewels the impetus to share her experiences through writing.
From the time she was a little girl growing up in Bombay, India, stories have been a part of Jewels' life. During visits to her grandmother's farm, Jewels' imagination would be carried away by the Indian folk tales told around the evening fire.
As a child she would climb an old Gulmohar tree and sit high up in its branches, envisioning herself a world traveler journeying to the faraway places and meeting the fascinating people she had read about.
For many years Jewels has been actively involved in reaching out to those that are less privileged, especially children. She was a teacher with the visually impaired and worked with street kids in Bombay.
Jewels was also the Director of Bridge Global Ministries, a networking ministry for Christian women in the marketplace, and served as a consultant on the faculty of the North Seattle Community College “Center for Successful Entrepreneurs” program.
Wherever she goes, Jewels “sees” people, each of whom has their own story to tell.
